Amidst Farmers’ Protest, Central Government Takes the Important Decision of Increasing MSP of this Crop

For more than two months, farmers are protesting against the new agricultural laws, and are firm on their demand to repeal these laws. And meanwhile, the Central government has taken this important decision.

For more than two months, farmers are protesting against the new agricultural laws, and are firm on their demand to repeal these laws. And meanwhile, the Central government has taken this important decision.

Copra MSP Increased

In the cabinet meeting chaired by PM Modi on Wednesday, the MSP of Kernel of the coconut, Copra has been increased.

Union Minister Prakash Javadekar, while giving information about this decision said, “An important decision was taken for the farmers who produce copra in the meeting. MSP of the copra is increased. It has been increased by Rs. 375. Earlier, its MSP was Rs. 9,960 per quintal and now its MSP will be Rs. 10,335 per quintal. Its cost price is Rs. 6,805.”

The minister said, “MSP of Ball Copra has been increased by Rs. 300, Its new MSP will be Rs. 10,600 per quintal. Its cost price is Rs. 6,805.”

Union Minister Prakash Javadekar wrote about this decision on his twitter handle too.

As per Swaminathan Report

Javdekar said in a press conference that the decision was taken keeping in mind the recommendations of the Swaminathan report. He said, “the government has fulfilled the 40-year-old demand of farmers.” He alleged that the UPA government had not implemented the Swaminathan report for a long time. Modi government is implementing its recommendations.

Farmers’ Protest

Farmers are protesting at the borders of Delhi for the last two months. And on 26 January, Republic Day, Farmers’ Organizations had called for the Tractor Rally in Delhi, and the situation became violent and took a fierce form.
