Amit Shah to Launch ‘Vibrant Villages Programme’ in Kibithoo, Arunachal Pradesh on April 10

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah will visit Arunachal Pradesh on April 10-11, 2023. On April 10, 2023, he would start the 'Vibrant Villages Programme' in Kibithoo, a border village in Arunachal Pradesh's Anjaw district.

The Government of India, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the 'Vibrant Villages Programme' (VVP) with central components totaling Rs.4800 crore, including Rs.2500 crore specifically for road connectivity, for the fiscal years 2022-23 to 2025-26.

VVP is a centrally funded scheme that has identified 2967 villages in 46 blocks of 19 districts bordering the northern border in the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Uttarakhand & Himachal Pradesh, and the UT of Ladakh for comprehensive development.

In the first phase, 662 villages were designated for priority coverage, including 455 in Arunachal Pradesh. The Vibrant communities Programme will serve to improve the quality of life of people living in specified border communities and encourage people to stay in their home areas, reversing outmigration from these villages and increasing border security.

District Administration shall produce Action Plans for chosen villages with the assistance of suitable mechanisms at the block and panchayat levels to guarantee 100% saturation of central and state initiatives. Road connectivity, drinking water, power (including solar and wind energy), mobile and internet access, tourist centers, multi-purpose facilities, healthcare infrastructure, and wellness centres are among the intervention target areas suggested for village development.

He will also lay the groundwork for Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) infrastructure projects in Likabali (Arunachal Pradesh), Chapra (Bihar), Nooranad (Kerala), and Vishakapatnam (Andhra Pradesh).

At Kibithoo, the Union Home Minister will also meet with ITBP employees. An exhibition of products manufactured by women members of border district Self-Help Groups will also be held. Shri Amit Shah will visit exposition stalls to meet and praise the efforts of border rural ladies. Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation will pay respect at the Walong War Memorial on April 11, 2023.
