Only eligible students who are accepted into one of the top 200 universities in the world are eligible for financial help.

The Andhra Pradesh government has issued an order implementing the "Jagananna Videsi Vidya Deevena" scheme, which will give students financial assistance to pursue graduate and professional degrees abroad.

The government has chosen to implement the "Navaratnalu" system in order to revamp the entire system put in place by the prior government and to focus on high-quality education in foreign institutions.

Every year, notification will be given between September and December and January and May. A committee led by the State government's chief secretary will examine the selection procedure. The program will thereafter be named as "Jagananna Videshi Vidya Deevena." Only eligible students who are accepted into one of the top 200 universities in the world as determined by the most recent QS world university rankings are eligible for financial help.

The top 100 Institutions/Universities that admit the chosen candidates will be eligible for financial aid covering the full cost of tuition.

If a student is chosen for admission to one of the next 100 institutions or universities (i.e., institutions or universities that are rated 101 to 200), they are eligible for financial assistance covering 50% of their tuition.

In the case of PG courses, the scholarship will be paid to the approved students in four equal installments to the listed bank account. Subject to the individual enrolling in the course and the candidates chosen by the selection committee, sanction proceedings detailing the total eligible amount for the course shall be granted to the individual toward fees in the form of a grant.

The candidates may use the sanction proceedings to apply for a visa at the respective Embassy. Upon presentation of a valid visa and entrance information, a one-way economy class ticket (lowest fare tickets) for the shortest route must be paid.

Upon submission of a valid visa and payment receipts for the visa fees, the student will get a refund of the entire visa charge. A Utilisation Certificate, with the approval of the respective university authorities, must be received from the student following the release of the 4th Installment for scheme record purposes.
