Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has instructed senior officials to ensure 100 percent e-crop registration so that farmers do not face any shortage of seeds for sowing. Naidu instructed officials of the finance department to release Rs 36 crore input subsidy for farmers whose crops were destroyed. It will enable them to restart growing their crops.

His direction came in the aftermath of heavy rains in July, which affected crops. The chief minister also instructed officials to ensure 100 percent e-crop registration. Further, he directed officials to incorporate technology to enhance agricultural output and incomes.

The CM suggested use of drones to spray insecticides in the fields and establishment of a drone testing centre in the state in consultation with the Union Civil Aviation Ministry.
