Art of Living Hosts the Biggest National Agriculture Teachers Meet in Bangalore

Shri Ravishankar underlined the need to on encourage youth in agriculture, formation of Kisan Manch and a standardised level of agriculture practices all over India.

Art of Living hosted the biggest-ever agriculture teacher's meet in Bangalore. More than 400 plus agriculture teachers participated in the greatest event that occurred at the Art of Living International ashram, Bangalore on February 8th and 9th February 2023.

The meeting was organized by the art of living for the promotion of natural farming. Various seminars on techniques in natural farming, bee farming and various schemes were presented at this event. Agriculture teachers from 18 different states participated in this mega event.

The event started with the Guru Puja by CEO Venkatesh SR. The event was inaugurated by Swami Omkarananda. The event was graced in the august presence of Dr. Prabhakar Rao (SSIAST Chairman), Venkatesh SR (CEO), Dr. Selvan (Scientist, Nammalvar organisation, Tamil Nadu) and Saar Francken (Special guest from the Netherlands Board member Herenboeren).

In his introductory address, Shri Ravishankar laid emphasis on encouraging youth in agriculture, formation of Kisan Manch and a standardised level of agriculture practices all over India. He also told value added products developed by the farmers must be authentic and valuable.

During the meeting, SSIAST chairman Dr Prabhakar Rao presented "Vision 2025 " which emphasised on developing knowledge base and doubling farmers income.

According to him the vision 2025 will be based on building traditional ecological environment, creating ecosystems, centre of excellence, sustainable livelihood.  The three pillars of Vision 2025 will be experience, expertise and engaging abilities. With the similar aim like Mandala Vatika course more than 500 courses and various schemes will be introduced for the welfare of farmers and Agriculture teachers who promote natural farming.

Later an agenda was formulated to make the agriculture teachers training program a standard one and state teacher coordinators for all states were elected at the prestigious meeting. The agricultural teachers of various states presented various desi seeds, and their farming technology to Sri Ravi Shankar on the second day.

As part of that Ravi Shankar advised to conduct a “National Desi Seed Exhibition” on the day of Shivratri at the Bangalore Ashram. He also guided Dr Jyothi, research scientist of the Sri Ayurveda to develop a book on Ayurveda herbs at the Bangalore Ashram.
