Banaras Hindu University is Providing Scholarship of Rs. 6000 To Students
The Banaras Hindu University will provide scholarships to the international students studying at the university under the "Scholarship to International Students" program.
Banaras Hindu University, an Institution of Excellence under the Education Ministry's IoE program, has launched a new scholarship program to enroll overseas students. The "Scholarship to International Students" program is likewise aimed at attracting and encouraging more international students for enrolling at the university.
The Motive Behind The Initiative
Foreign students will get Rs 6000 per month under the initiative, which will be renewed annually based on acceptable performance.
If a student is currently receiving a lower-value scholarship, he or she will be eligible for the difference.
Under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudhir K Jain, the Governing Body of Institution of Eminence, BHU, decided to introduce a "Scholarship to International Students."
Vice-Chancellor Professor Sudhir K Jain has stated that the university community must endeavor to place BHU among the best universities in the world. This scholarship program is one of several initiatives aimed at achieving this goal.
About The BHU Scholarship
More overseas students are expected to enroll at BHU as a result of the program.
Students who have one or more scholarships at the time of admission and a monthly income of less than Rs 6000/- will be given a stipend of a different amount.
Furthermore, it is in the spirit of the National Education Policy 2020, which places a higher emphasis on the internationalization of the Indian Education System by bringing more international students to Indian universities.
International Students Enrollment at The Banaras Hindu University
Every year, the university enrolls hundreds of international students in undergraduate, postgraduate, Ph.D., and diploma programs in Agricultural Sciences, Arts, Social Sciences, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Law, Commerce, and Sciences.
Foreign students account for up to 15% of the total number of seats. These seats are surplus to requirements. Banaras Hindu University now has 431 students from approximately 40 nations enrolled. Students from the United States, Brazil, France, Russia, Ireland, Australia, Yemen, Iran, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Thailand, Myanmar, and Cambodia are among them.
