Best Research Paper Award goes to GADVASU
Dr Simrinder Singh Sodhi, Assistant Professor, School of Animal Biotechnology, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU)
Dr. Simrinder Singh Sodhi, Assistant Professor, School of Animal Biotechnology, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) has been conferred with the “Best Research Paper” award in the technical session on “Improvement of Animal Resources for Enhancing Livestock Productivity” in the National symposium on "Sustainable management of Livestock and Poultry diversity for enhancing the farmers’ income" held at College of Veterinary and Animal Science, Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Bikaner.
Dr. Ramneek, Director, School of Animal Biotechnology said that Dr. Sodhi, presented his work on “Methodology to ascertain SNPs in the gene encrypting acetyl – CoA acetyltransferase -2 (ACAT2) and their anticipated role in the metabolic process in Pig”. Dr. Ramneek, elaborated that Dr. Sodhi has obtained his Ph.D. in pig genomics from Jeju National University, South Korea, and his work highlighted the importance of identification and role of differential expression of genes responsible for the pork quality. Dr. Simrat Sagar Singh, Dean, Post Graduate Studies, congratulated Dr. Sodhi for bringing laurel to the institute and motivated other faculty of the university to emulate him.
