Bharat Bandh Live: Kisan Congress Activists to Gherao Agriculture Minister's Office Today; Call for All India Strike

The prolonged farmer’s agitation against the government’s contentious farm laws has invited lots of hue and cry across the nation recently. As per reports, several farm organizations protesting the new farm laws has decided to join the ‘Bharat Bandh’ call given by transport and trade unions today.

The prolonged farmer’s agitation against the government’s contentious farm laws has invited lots of hue and cry across the nation recently. As per reports, several farm organizations protesting the new farm laws has decided to join the ‘Bharat Bandh’ call given by transport and trade unions today. 

Began in November last week, the farmer’s protest has recently entered into three months since the farmers from Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh are camping in and around Delhi to protest against the legislation. 

On February 25, the Samyukta Kisan Morcha appealed to all farmers to join the bandh peacefully. Farm leader Dr Darshan Pal said farmers’ bodies support the traders facing hardships due to GST and rising fuel prices. 

Meanwhile, Union agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar tried to assure agitating farmers on Twitter as he said the Centre can never dare to make laws that will harm farmers. "In a democracy, a government can never dare to make such a law that will harm farmers," said Tomar at Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela 2021 in Delhi. 

Youth Akali Dal to 'gherao' Delhi Police personnel 

The Youth Akali Dal (YAD) will gherao Delhi Police personnel for singling out Punjabi youth for arrests by registering false cases against them in connection with the January 26 incidents in the national capital.
