Chaudhary Yudhvir Singh, National General Secretary of the Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU), visited the headquarters of Krishi Jagran in Delhi on October 19, 2023.

During his visit, the General Secretary of All India Jat Maha Sabha lauded the efforts of the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Krishi Jagran, M C Dominic, along with his team for their relentless dedication to empowering farmers and advancing the agricultural sector.

In the wake of India’s Independence, the nation witnessed an impressive surge in technological development. Chaudhary Singh’s advocacy centers around the observation that the advancements India experienced after Independence favoured the industrial sector while agriculture was highly ignored.

This imbalance was due to migration patterns, where a high percentage of the population moved from rural to urban areas, creating a 57:43 urban-rural divide.

He further emphasizes that Indian policymakers often rely on theories from American and European authors, neglecting the practical realities of Indian farming and constructing policy on the same means.

By acknowledging and addressing the unique challenges faced by Indian farmers, policymakers can create a more inclusive and effective framework for the agriculture sector.

Towards the end of his insightful session at KJ Chaupal, Yudhvir Singh highlighted the importance of grassroots participation and committing oneself to addressing the challenges faced by farmers. "I request everyone to join from the ground level and help the farmers who are in need," said Chaudhary Yudhvir Singh.
