Bihar Lockdown: After Patna, Week-Long Complete Shutdown in Bhagalpur, Nawada, Buxar, Kaimur, Purnea Districts

The outbreak of Coronavirus in Bihar is increasing rapidly, a large number of Covid-19 patients are being found every day. Because of this, the administration there has taken tough measures in many districts because of the rescue from Corona. Due to this, 11 districts of Bihar have been put on lockdown again.

The outbreak of Coronavirus in Bihar is increasing rapidly, a large number of Covid-19 patients are being found every day. Because of this, the administration there has taken tough measures in many districts because of the rescue from Corona. Due to this, 11 districts of Bihar have been put on lockdown again.

These include Kaimur, Buxar, Nawada, Supaul, Madhepura, Khagaria, Munger, Kishanganj, Muzaffarpur, West Champaran, East Champaran, Madhubani, Nalanda, Bhagalpur, Begusarai, Madhepura along with the capital Patna. While the Patna has gone back into full lockdown for a week starting July 10 as coronavirus cases have increased sharply in Bihar while the number of daily tests conducted in the state has decreased. 

At the same time, in many districts, the administration has implemented lockdown since Saturday. These include Vaishali and Nalanda districts. Districts have imposed lockdowns for varying periods. On the other hand, in Purnia Municipal Corporation area, there will be a lockdown from 11 in the main market areas of Ara and Bhojpur district headquarters Ara. 

The effect of lockdown is visible in Patna since morning, traffic on the roads is less and shops are also less open. There was silence in many places on the streets of the capital, while only a few people came out on foot. It has been decided to open shops in the district in two shifts. Grocery shops and drug shops will open in Patna from 10 am while fruits, eggs, meat, fish shops will open from 4 pm to 7 pm. 

During the shutdown period, the government and private offices, except those involved in essential services like electricity, water, sanitation, banks, ATMs, telecommunications and petrol pumps shall remain closed for the seven days. Moreover, all places of worship shall be closed for public and no religious congregations will be permitted, without any exception. 

Medical establishments, both government and private, and shops dealing in essential items like dairy products, grocery, fruits, vegetables, meat, fish will be allowed to do business during stipulated hours. 

Other districts such as Patna, Purnea and Kaimur will also undergo seven-day lockdown from tomorrow to 16th of this month. Buxar district has also announced to impose lockdown from July 10 to 12.
