Budget 2023: 1 Crore Farmers Will Get Assistance to Adopt Natural Farming: Sitharaman

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented her fifth straight budget today (Feb 1). It was the full budget of Modi 2.0 Government before the next parliamentary elections in 2024.

Union Budget 2023: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that over the next three years, 1 crore farmers will get help in adopting natural farming. She added that 10,000 bio input resource centres will be established for fertilizer and pesticide manufacturing. 

The government since long has been pushing farmers to adopt natural farming or chemical-free alias traditional farming methods.

Besides this, the government has also decided to increase the Agriculture Credit Target to Rs. 20 lakh crores, with a major focus on animal husbandry, dairy, and fisheries. For this, it will also introduce a new sub-scheme of PM Matsya Sampada Yojana with a targeted investment of Rs. 6000 crores.
