According to Financial Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the PM Awaas Yojana budget has increased by 66% to more than Rs 79,000 crores. Outlay under the PM Awaas Yojana increased by 66% to more than Rs 79,000 crore.
Sitharamn also revealed that PM Garib Kalyan Yojana helped over 80 crore people get free food grains for 28 months during the Covid-19 pandemic. Joining a league of legends such as Manmohan Singh, Arun Jaitley, and P Chidambaram, Nirmala Sitharaman is the sixth minister in independent India to present five consecutive budgets.
