CAT 2024 Results Expected Soon

Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM-C) is anticipated to announce the results of the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 soon, marking a significant moment for MBA aspirants across India. As per past trends, the results are likely to be declared by December 20, with speculation that they could be released today, December 19. However, no official confirmation has been provided yet. Once announced, candidates can download their CAT 2024 results from the official website, iimcat.ac.in, using their login credentials, including registration number and password.

The CAT 2024 exam was held on November 24, 2024, across 389 test centers in India. The examination spanned 120 minutes, with three sections, each allocated 40 minutes. Following the exam, the final answer key was released on December 17, 2024.

The CAT 2024 scorecard will be valid for one year from the date of result declaration. The scorecard will detail section-wise scores, the overall percentile, and other candidate-specific information. This percentile plays a crucial role in determining eligibility for subsequent selection rounds such as Written Ability Tests (WAT), Group Discussions (GD), and Personal Interviews (PI).

Steps to Download CAT 2024 Results

  1. Visit the official website: iimcat.ac.in.

  2. Log in using your user ID and password.

  3. Click on the link titled "Download Scorecard."

  4. View your CAT 2024 score on the screen.

  5. Verify all details and download the scorecard.

  6. Optionally, print the scorecard for future reference.

Candidates should note that the scorecard will only be available online, and no physical copies will be sent by post.

How to Calculate CAT Percentile?

To determine a candidate's percentile in the CAT exam, first, calculate the total number of candidates (N) who appeared for the test. Then, assign ranks (r) based on the scaled scores achieved by each candidate. The percentile (P) can be calculated using the formula: P = [(N - r)/N] x 100. Finally, round the resulting percentile to two decimal places for accuracy.

The CAT percentile reflects a candidate's performance relative to all test-takers. It is calculated based on the scaled scores and ranks. High scaled scores correspond to higher ranks, with rank 1 awarded to the top scorer. In cases of ties, candidates with the same scaled scores receive identical ranks.

After the CAT 2024 results are declared, individual IIMs will release their shortlists based on candidates' percentiles and cut-off scores. This will be followed by the WAT, GD, and PI stages. Final admissions will depend on candidates' overall performance across these rounds.

Candidates are strongly advised to rely solely on the official website (iimcat.ac.in) for result-related information. Using unofficial platforms may lead to scams or compromise data security.
