The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is likely to announce the much-awaited date sheet for class 10th and 12th this month. Though CBSE has not made any statement in this regard but various media reports have indicated an early announcement of the class 10 and 12 exam date sheet.

Anita Karwal, CBSE chairperson in an earlier interaction with the media had hinted that the exam schedule might be released in January 2019 but now there is a possibility that the board may release it even earlier’ that means in December. The CBSE board exams normally start by February end and continue till March.

The board had made some changes in its passing criterion this year, which includes lowering the qualifying cut-off marks to 33 percent. This clearly means that students need to achieve only 33 percent marks in practical as well as theory exam to clear the exam instead of scoring separately in both the parts.

Every year lakhs of students appear in the CBSE class 10th as well as 12th exams.  In 2018, around 1162645 students appeared for the class 12 exam and around 1625967 appeared in class 10 exams throughout the country.
