A merge between CSS NIAM and MANAGE

The autonomous organizations that come under the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare's administrative control are being rationalized.

As a result, with the approval of competent authority, a decision has been taken to merge the Chaudhary Charan Singh National Institute of Agricultural Marketing (CCS NIAM), Jaipur with the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad. It has also been decided that the merged entity will continue to be known as MANAGE.

The merger aims at promoting agriculture education and creating national-level agriculture institutes for expanding the requirements of agri-techno managers in India. And to contribute to agri-business market development and management knowledge and practice through cutting-edge applied research and its dissemination.

Now let me brief you about these organizations and their vision and goals.

CCS NIAM, Jaipur

The Government of India established the Ch. Charan Singh National Institute of Agricultural Marketing (NIAM) in August 1988 as a leading national-level institute to provide specialized training, research, education, and consulting in the area of agricultural marketing. Through its mission, NIAM is significantly advancing the reform process and expanding the list of eligible managers.

For senior and mid-level officials from various line departments of State Governments, Cooperatives, Marketing Boards, and Agribusiness Entrepreneurs, NIAM organizes training programs in the field of agricultural marketing and related fields. The institution is also playing an active role in orienting agricultural extension personnel towards agricultural marketing.

MANAGE, Hyderabad

In order to address the issues of management in a rapidly expanding agricultural and rural sector, the Government of India's Ministry of Agriculture founded MANAGE in 1987.

In 1996, MANAGE introduced the country's first program of its type, the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Agri-Business Management), with the goal of creating world-class agri-techno managers. Both institutions have AICTE and NBA approval for PG Diploma in management.
