October 1st is celebrated as International Coffee day across the globe. It was first officially started by the International Coffee Organization in the year 2015 in order to celebrate and promote coffee as a beverage. Since then, the number of countries celebrating coffee day increased year after year. The theme of 4th International Coffee Day 2018 is " Women In Coffee".
Coffee is not just a beverage for many, but also the perfect way to start one's day. Hot steaming coffee kept near lips spread a strong aroma that rushes through the nostrils and turns on the energy. Irrespective of age and gender, many are addicted to this healthy drink. There are different varieties of coffee, and the art of making coffee differs from place to place. Caffe Americano, Cappuccino, Espresso, Flat White, Long Black, Irish Coffee are popular across the globe. On this occasion, a small peep into our age-old coffee culture is substantial.
Filter Coffee: Great Indian Version
India has also its own way of preparation- Filter coffee. Though it is popular in South India especially Tamil Nadu, its fame has traveled quite a distance. Coffee is an instant way to refresh.
After mounting the upper cylinder over the Tumbler like the lower part, the coffee powder has to be added and the perforated disc with handle should be placed. Boiled water is poured over it and should be kept close for hours, so thick decoction will get collected inside the tumbler. For that, it will take a couple of hours. The filter coffee has a rich flavor much superior to Espresso and it is very strong too.
