A hot cup of tea on a cool winter morning is surely tempting, but imagine surviving only on tea for years. Surprising! Isn’t?

A woman living in Chhattisgarh has been drinking just tea for around 30 years and is not only alive but completely healthy. Pipli Devi, living in Baradiya village of Koriya district, Chhattisgarh gave up food at the age of 11. Famous for her unique lifestyle, she is locally known as ‘Chai ValiChachi.’

According to the lady’s father, Rati Ram, she initially took biscuits and bread with milk tea but gradually switched to black tea, which she consumes once a day after sunset. She gave up food when she was in 6th grade. “Our daughter went to participate in a district level tournament from Patna School. When she returned, she suddenly gave up eating food and drinking water,” he said.

Pipli’s brother brought to notice that they had sought medical help to ensure that she isn’t suffering from a disease but doctors couldn’t diagnose any health issue.

Amazed to hear the case, Dr. S.K. Gupta from district hospital, Koriya stated, “It is surprising. Scientifically speaking, a human being cannot survive on tea for 33 years. 33 years is a lot of time, that is not possible.”

According to her family, Pipli is absorbed in Lord Shiva’s worship throughout the day.

How weird and amusing!
