ICAR has partially modified the eligibility requirements for admission through ICAR’s AIEEA- PG and AICE- JRF/SRF (Ph.D) 2021 with respect to requirement of ICAR accreditation for candidates passed out from Government/ Private Agricultural and Science Institutions.

Earlier ICAR (Indian Council of Agriculture Research) accreditation was necessary for both grant from Educational Division and allocating all India seats to State Agriculture Universities by ICAR through AIEEA (All India Entrance Exam for Admission). Now, ICAR decided to link accreditation with eligibility of colleges to enable them to apply for AIEEA. This made a lot of impact and almost all higher Agricultural Educational Institutions, both in public and private sector want ICAR accreditation to make them visible at the national level.

Until 2020, it was necessary for the First batch of that university to have passed out, for that college to get ICAR accredited but this was ultimately a loss for the students who were taking admission in the first batch of the newly established colleges. So ICAR has come up with this modification:

For Admission through ICAR’s AIEEA (PG) and AICE- JRF/SRF (Ph.D.), it has been decided that the first batch students from newly established colleges, not having ICAR accreditation, may be allowed, with the condition that it will be applicable for the first batch pass out students only in that particular academic year. For the second batch students, accreditation of the college from ICAR is compulsory.

It must be noted that exemption of accreditation is not applicable in subsequent years for those students who pass out after the first batch.
