CM Bommai Instructs Officials to Complete Amrit Nagarothana Projects in Two Years

On Friday, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai directed authorities to finish existing infrastructure projects under the CM's Amrit Nagarothana Yojana in two years rather than the current three-year target.

The minister presided over a meeting at the Urban Development Department to examine the implementation of budget programs. Under the CM's Amrit Nagarothana Yojana, 291 Urban Local Bodies' action plans have been approved. The tender procedure has begun, according to Bommai, who has urged authorities to finish the work by 2024.

Under the centrally financed Amrit 2.0 project, drinking water and underground sanitation system developments are being planned in 287 Urban Local Bodies at a total cost of Rs 9260 crore, including the state's portion of the cost. The Chief Minister wanted the construction to begin as soon as possible in areas where there are no technical issues.

Bommai directed officials to develop housing projects based on clear rules and to improve civic amenities for the residents.

The proposal for the employment of 6000 Paurakarmikas has been accepted by the Finance Department. Bommai directed that people currently working on a contract basis be given priority and be exempted from the Roster system.

Officials told Paurakarmikas that steps had been taken to pay them a Rs 2000 hardship allowance.

Officials also stated that a group led by the Development Commissioner had been formed to build Integrated Townships with private engagement in all divisions. For these initiatives, the Chief Minister advised the officials to hire consultants.

BA Basavaraj, Minister of Urban Development, MTB Nagaraj, Chief Secretary Vandita Sharma, and other top officials were in attendance.
