The Covid-19 situation in India has turned critical. The country’s daily count has crossed 1 lakh cases for the first time since the pandemic knocked the nation last year. Daily Covid-19 cases in India increased by five times to over 100000 from 20000 in just two weeks.

Maharashtra, the worst hit state, alone accounted for more than half of India’s total cases[daily]. The state-imposed night curfew from April 5 and announced weekend lockdown to break the chain. A state like Punjab, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, etc., has announced several restrictions, including night curfews and restrictions on the movement of people, to avert the spread of the second wave of coronavirus infection.
