COVID-19: CM Yogi Transfers First Instalment to 20 Lakh People Under Shramik Bharan Poshan Yojana

Due to increasing number of covid-19 cases in Uttar Pradesh & its bad effect on the unorganized sector, CM Yogi Adityanath has launched the ‘Shramik Bharan-Poshan Yojana’. Under this yojana, he has transferred the first instalment of Rs 1,000 in the accounts of over 20 lakh daily wage labourers via DBT.

Due to increasing number of covid-19 cases in Uttar Pradesh & its bad effect on the unorganized sector, CM Yogi Adityanath has launched the ‘Shramik Bharan-Poshan Yojana’. Under this yojana, he has transferred the first instalment of Rs 1,000 in the accounts of over 20 lakh daily wage labourers via DBT.

What is Shramik Bharan-Poshan Yojana?

The CM Yogi said, “The state government had made arrangements to provide relief to the daily wage labourers & small vendors. In all, 35 lakh such beneficiaries would get the monetary aid by Direct Benefit Tax. Under this scheme, street vendors, rickshaw pullers, e-Rickshaw drivers and porters will be benefitted.

Benefits under Shramik Bharan-Poshan Scheme: 

Government is also providing free ration to Antyodaya ration card holders, destitutes, old age pension holders, PwD pensioners, construction workers & daily wage workers. Under it, 20 kg of wheat and 15 kg of rice was being provided to them, added the CM. 

Interestingly, on the occasion, the CM Yogi distributed symbolic cheques of Rs 1,000 each to four workers. The necessity of this scheme took place as the poor people have been facing the issue of sustaining their livelihood due to social distancing and home quarantine due to coronavirus outbreak.  

However, for those who are not covered under any scheme would also be provided Rs 1000. Adding, sufficient funds are sent to all the district headquarters. Not to forget other lawmakers & ministers who have come forward to extend financial help in these sensitive times. Some of them are, Amethi MP Smriti Irani has donated Rs 1 crore from her MPLAD fund to Amethi DM. Deputy CM Keshav Maurya also donated a month’s salary and Rs 1 crore from his development fund. There are other MLAs as well who have also donated money to handle the situation properly.
