After government’s historical move on Kashmir, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has issued a red alert today. It comes after Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced revoking of Article 370 and 35A in Jammu and Kashmir.

Delhi metro released a tweet just after the government’s decision on Kashmir and asked the commuters to allow extra time for security check.

As advised by security agencies, a red alert has been imposed on the entire DMRC network. Please allow extra time in security checks,’’ said Delhi metro on Twitter.

The authorities have alerted the security advisory to ensure that no unwanted incident takes place in the Metro train network that runs across specifically Noida, Gurgaon, Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad.

In a result, passengers will have to go through extra security checks by the CISF personnel at many stations. Additional CISF troops, counter-terror reaction teams, and security gadgets have been inducted to ensure passenger’s security and to respond any emergency situation too quickly, officials said.

Each year the Delhi Metro authorities tighten its security before the Independence Day celebrations on August 15.

According to reports, around 28 lakh commuters use over 220 stations of the Delhi Metro Rail Network (DMRC) daily to reach destinations in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad and Gurgaon.
