Delhi-NCR Lashes with Wind, Dust-Storm; ‘Heavy Rain’ Alert in Southern Coastal
The Meteorological Department of India has issued ‘widespread rainfall’ with heavy to very heavy falls at isolated places over Konkan & Goa during the next 24 hours. The report also mentioned that Isolated heavy rainfall is also likely to occur over major parts of south peninsular (Coastal) India during the next 4-5 days. The Weather Department has already issued a weather forecast for a thunderstorm accompanied by rain in Delhi and the surrounding areas. Moreover, the national capital including NCR lashed with heavy dust storm along with light rainfall on Friday evening which resulted in the diversion of eight flights from Delhi to Lucknow and Jaipur.

Commuters returning from work have faced a lot of hurdles and heavy traffic due to this sudden weather change in the yesterday evening.
“The Low-Pressure Area now lies over east-central & adjoining the southeast Arabian Sea. The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to mid-tropospheric levels”, said reports that released in the morning bulletin.
As per yesterday’s report, most places over Coastal Karnataka, Lakshadweep, Kerala & Mahe and Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal and few places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Madhya Maharashtra, North Interior Karnataka, and Rayalaseema witnessed light shower along with thunderstorm.
On the other hand, many places over Kerala & Mahe and Coastal Andhra Pradesh and at isolated places over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, East Madhya Pradesh, West Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal lashed with the thunderstorm, dust storm along with light shower in few years.
As per the weather report, maximum temperatures were recorded above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over Assam & Meghalaya; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at most places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura; at many places over West Bengal & Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.
On the other hand, minimum temperatures were reported above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at most places over Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi; at a few places over West Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and SubHimalayan West Bengal & Sikkim; at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab and Madhya Maharashtra.
