Delhi Traffic Police Divert Routes Ahead of 20,000-strong Kisan Rally at Ramleela Ground

According to Delhi Traffic Police, some routes are diverted such as the Delhi Gate, Ajmeri Gate, JLN Marg, Chaman Lal Marg, Maharaja Ranjeet Singh Marg, Mirdard Chowk, Minto Road R/L, R/A Kamala Market. to Hamdard Chowk, Bhavbhuti Marg, Paharganj Chowk.

The Sanyukt Kisaan Morcha is organizing a Kisan Rally today at the Ramleela Ground, New Delhi. Approximately 20,000 to 25,000 participants are expected to attend the rally and will start coming to Ramlila Ground on 20 March 2023.

According to Delhi Traffic Police, some routes are diverted such as Delhi Gate, Ajmeri Gate, JLN Marg, Chaman Lal Marg, Maharaja Ranjeet Singh Marg, Mirdard Chowk, Minto Road R/L, R/A Kamala Market. to Hamdard Chowk, Bhavbhuti Marg, Paharganj Chowk.

In an advisory, Delhi Traffic Police said, “Traffic diversion/regulation/restrictions will be imposed today from 9 AM on these road stretches and surrounding roads like From Minto Road R/L to R/A Kamla Market., Ranjeet Singh flyover from Barakhambha Road to Guru Nanak Chowk, Vivekanand Marg, JLN Marg ( Delhi gate to Guru Nanak Chowk), R/a Kamla Market to Guru Nanak Chowk, Chaman Lal Marg, Ajmeri Gate towards Asaf Ali Road, Pahargaj Chowk, Desh Bandhu Gupta Road to Ajmeri Gate, and R/A Jandewalan".

Delhi Traffic police have also given some instructions to the general public.

The traffic advisory said, "People are advised to avoid the above-mentioned roads/ stretches. The commuters going to Old Delhi Railway, New Delhi Railway Station, ISBT, and Nizamuddin Railway Station should leave with sufficient time in hand to harbor possible delays on the route.

To help in the decongestion of roads avail public transport, park your vehicles only at the assigned parking lots, and avoid roadside parking as it causes difficulty in the normal flow of the traffic, information should be given to the police, in case any unusual or unidentified object or person is noticed in suspicious circumstances.”
