The application window will be open till 7th May 2019. This year, DU has also made a few changes in the admission policy which is summarized below.
Apart from making alteration in the admission policy the Delhi University will also be opening the correction window for the candidates from 20th May 2019. This is to help the candidates with changing their marks and score. Since a long time, students have been asking for this option. Hence DU has decided to start it this year.
Changes made in DU Admissions 2019
1. Stream Change
There is good news for candidates who wish to change their subjects or streams. Previously, DU used to deduct as much as 5 percent from the ‘best of four’ subject aggregate marks for those who shifted from one stream to another. But from this year, this deduction will be 3 points less, which means there will be only 2 percent deduction from the aggregate marks of ‘Best of Four’.
2. Sports and ECA Quota
The seats provided to students under Sports or ECA (Extra-curricular Activities) Quota are categorized under Supernumerary seats, thus this year the admissions under Sports / ECA Quota will be de-linked from the DU admission2019 cut-off lists. The trials for Sports / ECA Category admissions will start on 20th May.
In addition, the Delhi University is trying to get in touch with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to get direct access to the student’s mark sheet as well as other important documents. If provided, the candidates will not be required to upload as many documents as they do presently.
DU admission committee held a meeting on 15th March and decided to complete the admission procedure early this year. “In the meeting, it was decided to start DU registration 2019 on 15th April and finish by 7th May 2019. Dean of Students’ Welfare, Dr Rajeev Gupta informed that online registration and application process for DU admissions 2019 will be opened for all the programmes - undergraduate, postgraduate, MPhil & PhD.
