Dr. A K Mishra takes on as Vice Chancellor of GBPAUT(Pant Nagar Univ.)

The first agriculture university of the nation, the G.B.Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, established at Pantnagar on the pattern of Land Grant Agriculture Universities of the United States has got its new Vice Chancellor as Dr. AK Mishra. The order has been issued by the Governor of the state and the post has been locked for six months.

The first agriculture university of the nation, the G.B.Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, established at Pantnagar on the pattern of Land Grant Agriculture Universities of the United States has got its new Vice Chancellor as Dr. AK Mishra.  The order has been issued by the Governor of the state and the post has been locked for six months.

Dr. Aditya Kumar Mishra  is 1979 batch veterinary graduate and is currently holding the position of Chancellor at Maharashtra Animal & Fishery Sciences University. Apart from this, Dr. Mishra has also worked as Professor in the Department of Gynecology of Veterinary Sciences in G B Pant University of Agriculture & Technology. Dr Mishra has his special interest in Development of preventive and control measures and package of practices for economically important diseases of goat.

Dr A K Mishra would be replacing Dr. J Kumar. Phytologist Dr. J Kumar had been serving at the position since 26 September 2016 after Mangla Rai resigned from the office. Prior to taking over as Vice-Chancellor, G.B.P.U.A &T, Pantnagar, Prof. J. Kumar served as Dean, College of Agriculture; Prof. & Head, Department of Plant Pathology and Director, Centre of Advanced Faculty Training in Plant Pathology,  Pantnagar Center for Plant Genetic Resources, Senior Research Officer.

He also served as Director Research on deputation from GBPUAT for six months at the newly created University of Horticulture & Forestry, Ranichauri. Prof. Kumar has done pioneering research on mango malformation, rice blast pathogen population genetics and designed a common minimum programme under IPM for sustainable vegetable cultivation for small farmers.
