Dr. J.P Sharma At Progressive Agri Leadership Summit

Krishi Udyami Krishak Vikas Chamber organized an event Progressive Agri Leadership Summit 2021 on December 18th, 2021 at Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Solan, Himachal Pradesh.

The event was graced by Parshottan Rupala, Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying; He is also the Chief Guest of the event.

Distribution of 43 Awards Under Different Leadership Categories

A total number of 43 Award were distributed at Progressive Agri Leadership Summit 2021 under different categories and these are,  States, Educational Organization, Corporate: Agriculture & Allied Sectors, Progressive Farmer/ Village, Farmer Producer Organization, Agri Journalism Award (Awareness & Solution-Oriented), Government Organization/ PSU, Excellence in Academic & Krishi Bhaivshay Ratan Puruskar Award.

About Dr. J.P Sharma, Vice-Chancellor

On June 15, 2020, Dr. J. P. Sharma was appointed Vice-Chancellor of the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology in Jammu, UT of J&K. He previously served at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) in New Delhi as Joint Director (Extension), Head, Division of Agricultural Extension, and Director, Centre for Advanced Faculty Training (Extension).

He has 33 years of experience doing strategic research, supervising, and instructing postgraduate students, running national/international training programs, and carrying out national agricultural development interventions.

He received his doctorate from IIT Delhi and his postgraduate degree from GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, as well as fellowships from IIT Delhi and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). Associated with 20 externally financed studies, including those funded by ICAR, DST, DBT, NABARD, and others, and worked as PI/Co-PI in 13 institutional research initiatives.
