In his address, Dr. Tripathi appreciated the efforts of Mr. MC Dominic and the entire Krishi Jagran Team for their commendable work in the agricultural sector. He remarked, “The Millionaire Farmer of India Awards 2024 has created a buzz everywhere. You all are becoming a part of a new chapter in the history of Indian Agriculture. Coming from an underprivileged background and an area with inadequate educational facilities, if I could achieve prosperity in the jungles of Bastar, then farmers from remote corners can also aspire to make millions through agriculture. I stand with the Krishi Jagran team in this initiative.”

What is Kaksaad?

'Kakasad' is a little-known and almost obsolete word in the so-called developed civilization. The term 'Kaksaad' (Jatra or Puja yatra) in its broadest sense refers to the worship of folk goddesses and deities by the tribes. It is celebrated as a dance-oriented festival. It is a Gotra festival of the Abujmarh area, which resides in a certain periphery in Bastar, where young men, women, old men, and women of the Gond tribe all gather in a fixed village and offer prayers.

Young men and women play a major role in it. Gaita, Sirha, Guniya, and village priests perform this puja. The dance performance starts with the accompaniment of folk instruments like Mandar, Dhol, Nagara, Tudmuri, Mohri, etc. There is no fixed date for celebrating Kaksad festival. Kaksad is celebrated at different times in different villages. With the festival of Kaksad, the formal beginning of marriages in tribes takes place.
