Drones in Agriculture: Himachal Pradesh Government To Promote Drone-Focused Initiatives to Boost Productivity, Says Chandra Kumar

The Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Minister, Prof. Chandra Kumar highlighted the demand and advantages of drones in agriculture in the two-days drone festival in Palampur.

Drones in Agriculture: During the inaugural ceremony of a two-day drone festival at Agricultural University, Palampur, Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Minister, Prof. Chandra Kumar emphasized the numerous advantages drones offer to the agriculture industry.

Drones have proven to be highly valuable in optimizing farms, enabling farmers to enhance efficiency, conduct field surveys, sow seeds over large areas, monitor livestock and estimate crop yields. Utilizing UAVs not only saves agriculture professionals precious time but also leads to increased income for farmers.

The statement claims that the occasion serves as a stimulus for the wider adoption and use of drones across a range of businesses. Drones have the ability to completely change industries including agriculture, disaster relief, and infrastructure monitoring.

In light of the aforementioned two-day Himachal Drone Conclave at Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Agricultural University in Palampur in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), it is notable that a substantial session will focus on the vital role drones play in the delivery of medical supplies, logistical assistance, and their uses in infrastructure management and developmental projects on the last day of the conference.

The conclave included insightful panel discussions on issues including the future of drone technology careers for young people and the use of drones in law enforcement, disaster relief, and forest conservation. Additionally, the use of drones in horticulture, agriculture, and forest monitoring was investigated. On Wednesday, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the chief minister, is scheduled to give the event's final speech.

The purpose of this session is to highlight the remarkable abilities of drones, particularly in distant and mountainous locales, to provide prompt healthcare services, facilitate rapid emergency responses, enable effective conveyance of time-sensitive goods, and promote environmental sustainability.
