DU Admissions 2019-20 Update: Application Date Extended for Under Graduate Courses till 22 June; Check Details

Delhi University or DU has extended the application date for undergraduate (UG) courses. Now, students can apply for admissions till 22nd June 2019. The University will publish the admission brochure with revised eligibility criteria & other information today (17th June 2019) on its official website.

Delhi University or DU has extended the application date for undergraduate (UG) courses. Now, students can apply for admissions till 22nd June 2019. The University will publish the admission brochure with revised eligibility criteria & other information today (17th June 2019) on its official website.

The revised information brochure is expected to be published on the website by 5 pm today. After an order from the Delhi High Court, the varsity has extended the application date.

To recall, Delhi High Court, on 15th June, hearing pleas against the DU for effecting change in eligibility criteria just a day before the registrations were to start. The court stated that the changes in eligibility criteria have to be made in accordance with the law, "which will require a minimum of 6 months of public notice to the public at large".

Since the application date has been extended, the date for 1st cut off has also been delayed. Previously, Delhi University was set to release the first cut off list on 20th June, 2019. Now, the much-awaited first cut off will release in the last week of June.

Moreover, this year the cut off is also expected to be high as compared to previous years. In CBSE class 12th exam, 94,299 students have scored more than 90 % marks that included 17,693 students who scored above 95 % marks.

Last year (2018), the highest cut off for the undergraduate (UG) course was set by Lady Shri Ram College that was 98.75 percent for B.A. Programme course. The highest cut off among the B.Sc. courses was for B.Sc. Physics (Hons) at the Hindu College at 98 percent and for B.Sc. Computer Science (Hons) at SGTB Khalsa College with 98%.
