e-Shram Card: Benefits, Eligibility, Documents Required and Complete Registration Process
The portal was launched to prepare a comprehensive database of unorganised workers from different sectors.
Workers in the unorganized sectors who apply for an e-Shram card are eligible for many benefits. The Ministry of Labour and Employment launched it and made it public on August 26, 2022.
Through self-registration, the e-Shram card provides free assistance to people like migrant workers, construction workers, domestic workers, street vendors, waiters, beauticians, handicraft makers, fishermen, and agricultural laborers at CSCs, labor facilitation centers, and State Seva Kendras.
e-Shram portal keeps all the records such as name, occupation, address, occupation type, educational qualification, skill types, family details, etc. of unorganized workers.
