E Shram Card Registration: Can Same Mobile Number be Used for 2 or More Registrations?

On August 26, the Central Government introduced e-Shram Portal to crores of workers of the country working in the unorganized sectors. The government launched this portal keeping in mind the interest of the workers. According to the Ministry of Labor, more than 4.6 crore workers have registered themselves on the e-shram portal so far.

On August 26, the Central Government introduced e-Shram Portal to crores of workers of the country working in the unorganized sectors. The government launched this portal keeping in mind the interest of the workers. According to the Ministry of Labor, more than 4.6 crore workers have registered themselves on the e-Shram portal so far.  

e-Shram Portal is a database of laborers. With the help of this, the government will deliver social security schemes to their doorsteps. The workers will be provided a Universal Account Number and they can avail benefits through it.  

Can Same Mobile Number be Used for 2 or More Registrations? 

The official twitter account of Common Service Centres, a government of India entity working under the Ministry of Electronics & IT, has asked people to not to use the same mobile number for multiple e-Shram Registrations. 

It further informed that one mobile number can be used for a maximum of 3 registrations and warned that CSC IDs of VLEs doing multiple registrations with the same number for multiple e-shram registrations.  

It further informed that one mobile number can be used for a maximum of 3 registrations and warned that CSC IDs of VLEs doing multiple registrations with the same number will be blocked and they will not receive the commission. E shram is a centralized database of unorganized workers seeded with Aadhaar.  

The process to Register on e-Shram Portal  

  • To register on the e-SHRAM portal, log on to the official website.

  • Now click on the link 'Register on e-shram' on the home page.

  • Enter Aadhaar linked mobile number and captcha code.

  • Now click on send OTP.

  • After this, you will have to fill many more forms further.

  • You will be asked a number of information to complete the registration process. This includes residential details, educational qualification, nature of occupation and skill, bank account, etc.

  • Fill these out and follow the instructions.

  • Then you will get OTP and after filling OTP your card will appear on the screen, which also contains QR card.
