e-Shram Portal: Govt. to Give Rs 500 per month to Over 2.5 Crore Workers, Registration Link Inside

If you are a worker in the unorganized sector, you have an e-Shram card and are a resident of Uttar Pradesh, then there is good news for you. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced to give 500 per month to about 2.5 crore laborers and about 60 lakh registered workers in the unorganized sector from December to March.  

Who are the workers of unorganized sector? 

Any worker who is a self-employed or a salaried worker working in the unorganized sector and is not a member of ESIC or EPFO, is called an unorganized worker. For example, if you teach tuition or have a sewing shop, you still fall into this category. 

Among the people who have e-shram cards in UP, the maximum number of 1.24 crore workers are associated with the agriculture sector.  

Women Ahead in Registering 

Women of Uttar Pradesh are far ahead than men in registering on e-shram portal. According to the data given on the e-shram portal till December 16, 2021, the number of women who got the e-shram card is 51.17 percent and that of men is 48.83 percent 

Insurance up to Rs 2 lakh 

Let us tell you that the workers of the unorganized sector will be eligible for insurance up to Rs 2 lakh under PM Suraksha Bima Yojana if they are registered with this portal. There is no need to pay premium for this. Apart from this, various types of social security benefits will also be distributed through e-shram. It will be easy to get help from the central and state governments in difficult situations like Pandemic. 

Process to Register on the Portal  

  • To register on the e-SHRAM portal, log on to the official website.

  • Now click on the link 'Register on e-shram' on the home page.

  • Enter Aadhaar linked mobile number and captcha code.

  • Now click on send OTP.

  • After this, you will have to fill many more forms further.

  • You will be asked a number of information to complete the registration process. This includes residential details, educational qualification, nature of occupation and skill, bank account, etc.

  • Fill these out and follow the instructions.

  • Then you will get OTP and after filling OTP your card will appear on the screen, which also contains QR card.
