Employees can easily generate UAN online as well. You only need your Aadhaar number to complete the whole process.

EPFO subscribers will soon receive Rs 40,000 in their bank accounts. As per sources, all the EPFO members with Rs 5 lakh in their account will get an interest of Rs 40,000 soon. To check if you have received interest in your bank account, employees need to first generate a UAN number to access the EPFO account.

The Employee Provident Fund Organization assigns the Universal Account Number, or UAN, to each qualifying employee (EPFO). A UAN is a generic number containing information about the many Member IDs various organizations have assigned to you.

The UAN number enables the employee to check their EPF balance, make cash withdrawals, and apply for a PF loan. Employees can easily generate UAN online as well. You only need your Aadhaar number to complete the whole process.

How to generate a direct UAN number?

Step 1: Visit the EPFO website at https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface.

Step 2: On the right side of the page, select "Direct UAN Allotment by Employees."

Step 3: Generate an OTP

Step 4: Enter and submit the OTP that was sent to the Aadhaar-linked mobile number.

Step 5: Click Yes under "Are you working in any private company, factory, or establishment?"

Step 6: Choose "Employment Category".

It is important to note that the system will prompt for the PF code number or ask you to enter the details of the establishment if "In Establishment/Company/Factory" falls under EPFO.

When requested, enter your joining date, choose the Identity Proof type, and submit the required documents.

Step 7: Click "Generate OTP" after entering your Aadhaar ID and captcha code.

Step 8: Enter the received OTP.

Step 9: At this point, your UAN will be created.

Step 10: The UAN will also be sent to your registered mobile number.
