Even Flood could not Prevent this Couple from Exchanging Marriage Vows

Marriages are made in heaven; the saying has come true for a couple in Philippine. The couple got married at St. Vincent Ferrer Church that was flooded with water. Even the relatives and friends gathered there to cheer them up in the flooded water.

Marriages are made in heaven; the saying has come true for a couple in Philippine. The couple got married at St. Vincent Ferrer Church that was flooded with water. Even the relatives and friends gathered there to cheer them up in the flooded water.  

Last week’s excessive rain brought about by tropical depression “Usman” could not prevent the couple to exchange their marriage vows in Barangay Jagnaya, Jamindan, Capiz.

Resident Sarah Jane Deloso said “it was the first time flood entered the church, adding: “Ginabaha man kami in the past pero indi kapareho sini.” 

Records from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office showed that 13 towns in Capiz have been submerged due to the heavy rains last week. 

This affected 53 barangays, said Judy Grace Pelaez of Aksyon Tabang. She added that a total of 160 families have evacuated. 

“Usman” has dropped large volumes of rainwater in Luzon and Visayas on December  29 to 30, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration. 

The state weather bureau said in Masbate City, the two-day rain brought more than the usual amount of December rainwater.  “Usman” weakened into a low-pressure area after it made landfall in Borongan, Eastern Samar, it added.
