Agriculture Education Day is observed annually on December 3rd to commemorate the birthday of Bharat Ratna-Dr. Rajendra Prasad.

Dr Prasad was the first president of Independent India and Union Minister of Food and Agriculture of India in 1946. He was also the well-known leader of the Indian Nationalist Movement and a key architect in the formation of the Republic of India.

To highlight the significance of this day, Krishi Jagran has organized a Zoom webinar on the Importance of Agriculture Education for All on December 3, 2021, at 3 p.m.

Many eminent speakers took part in this webinar including Dhananjay Edakhe. He is Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing- Agro Zydex Industries Private Limited.

He is an experience Agri-inputs sales & marketing professional and has mastered the art of working on innovative technology in the sphere of agriculture inputs & taking it to the next level.

In the webinar first, he first thanked all the speakers for sharing their precious thoughts and then emphasized the importance of agricultural education. According to him, there is a need for revival in the curriculum of agricultural education. 

Edakhe said that we need to focus on the use of bio-farming. He ended his speech by saying "Everything can wait but not agriculture."

Objectives of Agriculture Education day:

The objectives of this day were to expose students, including those from schools, to various aspects of agriculture and their relevance to the development of the country, to inspire and attract them to agriculture, so that they develop an interest in agriculture and related subjects.

They can choose professional careers after schooling in some of these courses, engage in agriculture and related activities, or become agri-entrepreneurs in the future.
