Exports of Agricultural & Allied Products Increased Over 20% in FY 21-22: says Tomar

Agricultural and allied product exports were valued at Rs 2,52,400 crore in 2019-20, rising to Rs 3,10,130 crore in 2020-21, a 22.87 percent increase. According to a statement released by the ministry of agriculture and farmers welfare on Friday evening, exports of agricultural and allied products reached an all-time high of Rs 3,74,611 crore during the last fiscal year, 2021-22, an increase of 20.79%.

According to the Minister, Gujarat and Maharashtra led in agricultural and allied product exports in the western region, followed by Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal in the eastern region, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana in the central or northern region, and Karnataka and Kerala in the southern region.

In the fiscal year 2021-22, the value of marine products increased by Rs 13,734.61 crore, while the value of sugar increased by Rs 13,676.12 crore.

The value of exported wheat increased by Rs 11,672.37 crore in fiscal 2021-22, while rice, with the exception of Basmati, increased by up to Rs 10,168.39 crore, the Minister wrote in a written response.

While the value of raw cotton exports, which included waste, increased by Rs 7,038.66 crore during 2021-22, the value of other cereals increased by Rs 2911.04. During 2021-22, dairy product exports increased by Rs 2,352.93 crore in value, while coffee exports increased by Rs 2,273.97 crore in value.

During 2021-22, the value of castor oil export increased by Rs 1,952.36 crore, while the value of miscellaneous processed items increased by Rs 2,311.86 crore.
