External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met Denmark Development Minister Flemming Moller Mortensen in New Delhi on Wednesday to discuss the two countries' Green Strategic Partnership as well as the ongoing Ukraine conflict.

"It was a pleasure to meet Flemming Moller Mortensen, Denmark's Minister for Development and Nordic Cooperation, today in New Delhi." Consider his long association with India and his warm feelings. "Discussed next steps in our Green Strategic Partnership, which is making good progress," Jaishankar wrote on Twitter.

Last year, India's relations with European countries remained on a steady upward trajectory marked by warmth and progress. Regional groups within Europe, such as the Visegrad Group and the Nordic Group, which includes Denmark, also serve as platforms for multilateral interactions with India.

New opportunities for economic cooperation, particularly in renewable energy, water management, circular economy, health and pharmaceuticals, artificial intelligence, and digitalization, have given this historically close relationship a boost.

Denmark Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen paid a State Visit to India in October last year, the first visit by a Head of Government since the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.

During this visit, both parties reviewed the progress of the Green Strategic Partnership and agreed to expand collaboration in agriculture technology areas such as food safety, cold chain, food processing, fertilisers, fisheries, aquaculture, and so on.

New areas of collaboration were also identified, such as Smart Water Resource Management, Waste to Best-creation of best resources from waste, and efficient supply chain management. Mette Frederiksen hosted PM Modi during his official visit to Denmark this year on May 3-4.

The Danish Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the opportunity to reciprocate the very warm welcome and hospitality she received during her official visit to India in October 2021.

The Green Strategic Partnership, established during the two Prime Ministers' Virtual Summit in September 2020, has become a catalyst for increased cooperation between India and Denmark.

The two Prime Ministers welcomed the Green Strategic Partnership's concrete progress and reaffirmed their commitment to the Green Strategic Partnership's underlying values of democracy, the rule of law, and respect for human rights.
