Former Rajasthan deputy chief minister and Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Friday said the Centre’s farm laws are not only anti-farmer but also against the middle class citizens and they would force the government to revoke these.

Trying to address a large kisan mahapanchayat in the Kotkhawada region of Chaksu town of Jaipur, Pilot said that the laws would drive the future of farmers into darkness due to which farmers from all over the world are against it.

Ex ministers Ramesh Meena, Vishvendra Singh and MLAs Hemaram Chaudhary, Brijendra Ola, Rakesh Parekh, Prashant Bairwa and other leaders of the party were seen in the rally organized by Chaksu MLA Ved Prakash Solanki.

'There is a major problem for farmers in the world today. We all have to recognize that the Union government has introduced the laws that aren't just anti-farmer but are also against middle class as well as the youth,' he said adding that his party was dedicated to the farmers' interest and would pressure the government to revoke the rules. He also said farmers are not begging but battling for their rights as the main factor in a democracy are citizens.

A three-point resolution was passed in the “mahapanchayat”, demanding the abolition of the farm rules, a legislation to ensure the minimum support price (MSP) for crops and the rollback of the increase in fuel prices.

This was the first big farmers' rally in Rajasthan after the recent visit of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to the state and third 'kisan mahapanchayat' addressed by Pilot after similar incidents held in Dausa and Bharatpur.
