Synopsis: The main borders Tikri and the epicenter of protests by farmers Singhu, were also put under heavy security. Police, using JCB equipment, also dug up roads.

In the context of the violence that broke out during a tractor parade by farmers in the national capital on Republic Day, Delhi's border points at Tikri and Singhu remained under strong police deployment today. Delhi Police officers, along with those of the paramilitary forces, were stationed at the border.

At the Delhi-Uttar Pradesh border at Ghazipur, a tense standoff was also witnessed as farmers refused to move as police attempted to expel them. Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait has said that if necessary, he is 'prepared to face bullets.' The administration has cut off hundreds of farmers who have been camping out on the roads from electricity and water sources. After the farmers began their 'Delhi Chalo' protest on November 26, the Ghazipur border has been blocked. The farmers had broken barricades on Tuesday and had their tractor parade taken down.

During their tractor rally on Tuesday, Rakesh Tikait's Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) called a 'Mahapanchayat' or meeting in the middle of a massive backlash over violence. Certain sections of the border with Delhi have been closed to traffic.
