Farmers' Conference: Union Minister Arjun Munda Inspires Farmers at PUSA, New Delhi

Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare and Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda, inaugurated a Farmers' Conference on January 25 in PUSA, New Delhi. The conference, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, saw the participation of hundreds of farmers and members of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) from across the country who were specially invited by the Central Government for Republic Day. Union Minister Arjun Munda emphasized the strength of Indian democracy as farmers from different parts of the country converged in the capital on the occasion of Republic Day.

Farming Innovations Unveiled

At the conference, scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) shared insights into modern farming methods and innovations. Officials from the Union Agriculture Ministry also briefed the participants about various schemes aimed at benefitting the farming community.

Union Minister Arjun Munda highlighted that the 75th Republic Day marks a significant milestone and is a gateway to the Amrit Kaal from Amrit Mahotsav, symbolizing a resolution to build a new India fueled by spiritual thinking and the country's spiritual power.

Historical Perspective and Celebrating Farmers

Munda drew attention to the change in the Republic Day Parade venue to Kartavya Path, symbolizing a shift from the colonial Rajpath. He underscored the historical significance of farmers in shaping the nation and expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for inviting farmers to participate in the Republic Day celebrations.

Farmers - The Pillars of Progress

Highlighting the importance of the farming community, Munda stated that the progress of the country is intricately linked to the progress of its farmers. He stressed the need for farmers to embrace new methods of farming in changing times, emphasizing that empowering farmers will lead to the empowerment of villages and the entire nation.

Public Participation in Republic Day Celebrations

Union Minister of State Shobha Karandlaje commended Prime Minister Modi's initiative to invite people from various sections of society for Republic Day celebrations, promoting a spirit of public participation. The conference was attended by Union Agriculture Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Additional Secretary Maninder Kaur, Joint Secretary Shubha Thakur, and other high-ranking officers.

Field Visits and Training

As part of the conference, the invited farmers were given the opportunity for field visits and training, providing them with practical insights into the latest agricultural practices. The Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare extended a warm welcome and congratulations to all the participating farmers.
