Under the investment support scheme, ‘Annadata Sukhibhava,’ the Andhra Pradesh state government has promised annual financial assistance of Rs. 10000 to every farmer in the State, including the tenant farmers and not just the landowners.

Agriculture Minister, Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy stated that the farmers will receive a total sum of Rs.10000 annually in installments ahead of Kharif and Rabi season. All those farmers who are eligible for Rs 6,000 per household under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi will receive Rs 4,000 from the Andhra Pradesh Government. The Centre’s scheme has been merged with the AP govt. scheme and about 54 lakh farmers are expected to benefit from the same.

The Centre is to transfer 6000 in installments of 2000 each under PMKSN. After the first installment been credited, the AP government shall add 3000 in the farmer’s account for the Kharif crop and the pending amount shall be adjusted in the Rabi season. “Rs 2,000 is of no use to a farmer. By adding Rs 3,000 from our side we are making a decent sum that the farmer can use to prepare his field. Ahead of Rabi season, we will pay the remaining amount along with the PMKSN amount.”

In the interim budget presented, the AP government had allocated 5000 cr for the scheme.
