Former NIC DG Professor Moni Madaswamy Receives Ashoka Award 2023
Professor Moni Madaswamy, Professor Emeritus at Shobit University, Former Director General of the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Government of India, and Mentor & Advisor of Cape Institute of Technology.
Former Director General of the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Government of India, Professor M. Moni, was honoured with the Ashoka Award 2023 on Sunday, December 17.
Professor Moni has been working with Shobit University as Pressor Emeritus. He was the mentor and advisor of Cape Institute of Technology among the plethora of tasks he has been doing.
Praise and appreciation are pouring in right after the award was given to him.

He has been the Director General of the National Informatics Centre, Head of the Agricultural Informatics Division in 1995, and Head of e-governance in 2005.

Moni was Advisor (IT) at Delhi Development Authority (DDA), New Delhi & Chief Advisor (IT), the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare (Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India; presently, Chairman, ICFA Working Group on ICT in Food and Agriculture, New Delhi (http://www.icfa.org.in); Chairman (Designate), Working Group on BRICS BioMed Informatics Network, New Delhi.
The Ashoka Award is an initiative of the Charles Walter’s Society for Innovation & Research(CWSIR). It was established as an independent Research & Innovation Society, through the Society Act (Act 21, 1860).
