Increasing awareness towards the veganism has developed the idea of not killing the animals and depending mostly on the fruits and vegetables. This idea is picking up not only in India but also in the West. 

Worldwide people are discarding the use of meat, therefore, the animal and their skin are safe now. If there will be no animal skin then the shoes, jacket, bags manufacturers will have to look for alternate options.

The latest development is utilization of leaves and skin of the pineapple, as the pine apple is the fruit which is consumed for various health benefits. Its production is 24.8million tons. The wastage from pineapple is also matches the same.  Pineapple is a native fruit of South America. The Spanish and Portuguese explorers distributed the pineapple plant to the rest of the world. Hawaii was the first place to commercially cultivate the fruit. Today, it is globally produced at around 24.8 million tons annually.  

Pineapples have exceptional juiciness and a vibrant tropical flavor that balances the tastes of sweet and tart. They are second only to bananas as America's favorite tropical fruit. Although the season for pineapple runs from March through June, they are available year-round in local markets. 

Pineapples are a composite of many flowers whose individual fruitlets fuse together around a central core. Each fruitlet can be identified by an "eye," the rough spiny marking on the pineapple's surface. Pineapples have a wide cylindrical shape, a scaly green, brown or yellow skin and a regal crown of spiny, blue-green leaves and fibrous yellow flesh. The area closer to the base of the fruit has more sugar content and therefore a sweeter taste and tenderer texture.  

Veganism is here to stay. Also Hugo Boss has recently a vegan shoe collection for men in the range in which leather was replaced by pineapple skin. A fashion trend with the fruit printed on all kinds of items has been around for a while now. But now the exotic fruit wants to conquer the world of shoes by bringing one of the biggest designers onto their vegan, non-exploitative manufacturing side: The South German Hugo Boss Company has started to sell shoes made of pineapple leather.

In the meantime, there are already many alternatives in processing natural fibers. These are becoming more and more popular, as the individual, ecological footprint of products is being considered more and more. Pineapple leather itself has been used for several years now and is now increasingly appearing within the world of fashion. 

We’re going to go out on a limb here and say that if Coastal Living had an official fruit, it may very well be the pineapple. And as if we weren’t already obsessed with this tropical fruit in our cocktails and in lieu of Christmas tree here’s another smart—and very eco-friendly—way to use pineapples: Wear them. 

To make the material, long fibers from the waste leaves are extracted and turned into a non-woven mesh that, when fully processed, is “soft and flexible, yet very durable,” according to the website. The latest get might be the sustainable company’s biggest yet—a partnership with fashion giant Hugo Boss. The brand recently released a limited-edition line of mens’ sneakers made from Piñatex, recycled plastic, organic cotton, and natural plant-based dyes. The sharp-looking kicks, which come in four colors, are priced at $348 a pair.
