FSSAI has formed regulations for all packaged organic food materials.All packed products sold under the banner of organic food material should contain precise details of their organic status. Rice, pulse, and condiments should have approval according to the regulatory drafts of FSSAI. FSSAI has taken such step for the first time.Raw commodities that are brought directly to the market without any processing needs no such certification. The draft proposes two alternatives for products that claim to be organic. the product must comply the provisions of National Programme for Organic Production or else it should comply with participatory guarantee program. run by the ministry of agriculture.
