Fund for third phase of the Krishna Upper Project gets approval

The Karnataka state Cabinet has approved an expenditure of Rs 51,148.94 crore for the third phase of the Krishna Meladhe project. The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by chief minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday. B. Patil revealed in a press conference after the meeting.  After the final verdict in 2010 of the Krishna Tribunal, Rs. 17,206 crore was allocated to the third phase of the project in 2012. Approval was given to philosophical approval.

The administrative approval of the Cabinet has been approved by the new Land Acquisition Guidelines 2013, as the amount of compensation for land acquisition is four times higher than the guidelines. Revenue Minister, Kagodu Thimmappa has decided to formulate a new sub-committee and a comprehensive sub-committee for the implementation of the comprehensive guidelines.

Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister H. K. Patil, Minister for Small Irrigation, Law and Parliamentary Affairs B. Jayachandra, the Deputy Commissioner of Medical Education Minister Dr. Sharan Prakash Patil, will report on the rehabilitation and rehabilitation of the Krishna Upstairs Project on the basis of land acquisition and the rate of acquisition. The high command committee headed by the Chief Minister will finalize the decision.

The Cabinet has approved the revision of the Supreme Court's decision to efficiently utilize 169 TMC of water and provide irrigation facilities to 6.19 lakh hectares and the CrestGate of the Alamatti Reservoir at present from 519.60 to 524.256. Almost 90 percent of the civil works already completed in this regard. All works remaining by the end of this year will be implemented. M. Patil explained that the Cabinet had agreed to provide shelter to refugees on the basis of the purpose of helping them with all new land rights.
