GADVASU Celebrates a Week-Long Youth Festival
Students showcased their talent in different fields like Fine Arts, Theatre, Singing, Dances, and Literary events.
Week-long inter-college youth festival of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana concluded with a note of gaiety. S. Laljit Singh Bhullar, Cabinet Minister, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, and Dairy Development and Transport Department was the Chief Guest on this occasion.
Cabinet Minister applauded the dedication and performance of students in events and congratulated the university's officers for the successful conduct of the youth festival. He mentioned that girls are the future of our nation and Vet University has encouraged them to participate in various activities.
Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor presided over the function. He said that this time youth festival was celebrated after a gap of three years. He also mentioned that these festivals are important for the upliftment of the personality of the students and give them a channel in addition to their studies. Inter college youth festival started on 13th October was successfully organized under the able guidance of Dr. Satyavan Rampal, DSW Cum EO of GADVASU. Dr. Rampal thanked the Vice-Chancellor, faculty as well as students of the University for their support of this festival.
Dr. Kewal Arora, Dr. Jasvir Mehram, Dr. Arpan, and renowned artists Sh. Ravinder Ranguwal were honored for their distinguished services in the field of art and culture.
Dr. A.P.S. Brar organizing secretary said that competitions in 25 events were held with the active participation of more than 200 students. Four Campus colleges, the College of Fisheries, College of Veterinary Science, College of Dairy Science and Technology, and College of Animal Biotechnology participated along with the College of Veterinary Science Rampura Phul, Veterinary Polytechnic, Kaljharani, Bathinda and Khalsa College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Amritsar.
Students showcased their talent in different fields like Fine Arts, Theatre, Singing, Dances, and Literary events. A renowned Punjabi Singer Jasbir Jassi enthralled the audience with his songs on essential issues of society. Popular Punjabi singers and actors, Gippy Grewal, Karamjit Anmol, Harby Sangha, and Jasmin Bhasin also performed in the youth festival.
During the prize distribution ceremony, Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor, GADVASU and university officers distributed the prizes to the students. Dr. A.P.S. Brar and Dr. Nidhi Sharma, Welfare Officer shared the results of yesterday’s events as under:
