GADVASU wins Overall Championship Runner up in Inter-Agri Youth Festival

The 18th Inter - Agricultural Universities Youth Festival 2017-2018 competitions were held at Sri Venkateshwara Veterinary University (SVVU), Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. In this mega festival, a total of 1300 students participated from 51 Universities of the country. Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, (GADVASU) Ludhiana won Overall Championship Runner up in in this Inter-Agri Youth Festival.

The 18th Inter - Agricultural Universities Youth Festival 2017-2018 competitions were held at Sri Venkateshwara Veterinary University (SVVU), Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.  In this mega festival, a total of 1300 students participated from 51 Universities of the country. Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, (GADVASU) Ludhiana won Overall Championship Runner up in in this Inter-Agri Youth Festival.

The event was organized in five different categories having Group folk dance, Music, Literary events, Fine arts and Theatre events. GADVASU participated in all the competitions conducted and won several positions including gold (1st prize) in group Folk dance, Debate (Gurleen Kaur and Bharti Raj), On the spot painting and Poster making (1st prize,  Pritam Singh), and 3rd positions in Mono acting (Himanshu Bhatti), Elocution (Bharti Raj) and Rangoli (Supriya Kamboj).

Dr. Shanthanagouda and Dr. Rabia Bharadwaj of GADVASU managed the team. Dr. Shanthanagouda Revealed that During the valedictory function, the winners of GADVASU were awarded with the trophies by the Chief guest, Sri Somireddy garu, Minister of State, Andhra Pradesh and other dignitaries. The chief guest of the function addressed the students and appreciated the enthusiasm expressed by the students for participating in the mega event.

Mrs. Nidhi Sharma, welfare officer of the University coordinated the GADVASU team. The entire GADVASU team was trained under the guidance of the Directorate of Students’ Welfare Dr. Satyavan Rampal and he praised the students for their marvelous achievement. The Vice Chancellor, Dr. A.S. Nanda expressed his heart-felt congratulations to all the participants, winners and the team management.

He also emphasized the importance of students’ participation in extra co-curricular activities for their personality development in addition to the academics and he highlighted that GADVASU having a small numbers students and emerging University has achieved championship runner up at the national level competition.
