Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan: Here’s How You Can Earn Rs. 202 per day through this New Government Initiative
Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan: During nationwide lockdown due to Covid-19, lakhs of migrant laborers from different metro cities have returned to their homes. In this sudden lockdown, these migrant workers have faced lots of problems. In such a situation, to give immediate relief to these laborers, the Central Government launched Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan on June 20. Under this abhiyaan, laborers will be provided employment for 125 days in different sectors. The government has approved a fund of Rs 50000 crore for this.

Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan will run in 116 districts
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that in the beginning, people will be provided employment for 125 days. For this, currently 116 districts of 6 states have been selected. A target has been set to provide work to at least 25,000 migrant workers in these districts.
Sitaraman further said that in these 125 days, about 25 schemes of the government will be brought together. Whoever needs work will be given through these 25 schemes. Workers will be given work according to their skills. Therefore, 25 schemes of different departments have been included in this abhiyan.
Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan: You can earn up to Rs 25,250 from home
Under Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan, daily wages will be given according to the MNREGA wages. A worker will get Rs 202 per day and if he works for 125 days, he can earn Rs 25250 under this scheme sitting at his home.

The government said that the list of workers or labourers who have been sent back to the villages through Shramik special or any other means of transport is already with the Centre. Based on that list, they will be provided employment. The list of laborers who have migrated on their own is also with the concerned District Magistrate. Still these people must go to the district magistrate office and check if their name is the list or not. The entire work will be managed by the state government officials.
