Good News: Government to Give 50% Subsidy on Zaid Crops, Apply Now!

The government is giving great emphasis on the production of Zaid crops and is also encouraging the farmers to cultivate these crops by providing subsidy.

The government is giving great emphasis on the production of Zaid crops and is also encouraging the farmers to cultivate these crops by providing subsidy.
Recently, Bihar Government has announced that it will be giving subsidy on the purchase of moong, urad and maize seeds. Another added benefit of this subsidy is that the farmers can buy the seeds at the comfort of their home, that too for a nominal price. The government will be providing home delivery facilities for the seeds. The Bihar government is providing seeds to farmers or cultivating Zaid crops. Along with this, farmers are being encouraged to do agriculture. A 50 percent subsidy will be given on seeds to farmers.
Quantity of Seeds to be Provided

Moong: 4747 quintal

Maize hybrid seed: 24 quintals

Urad seeds: 10 quintals
Avail Zaid Seeds at these prices

Against 1 kg of moong seed, which is sold at Rs 75, 50 percent subsidy will be given. If a farmer has a 5-acre field, he will be given moong seeds.

Against 1 kg of the seed of maize for Rs 122, 50 percent off will be given.

Against 1 kg seed of urad for 90 rupees, a 50 percent subsidy will be given.
The home delivery facility will be available in these Districts
Seed home delivery facility will be made available in these 7 districts of the Bihar. This scheme has been started as a pilot project. These seven districts will be Banka, Samastipur, Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, Nawada, Gaya and Rohtas. The seeds will be made available to farmers through home delivery to all these districts.
How to Avail the Seeds
If you wish to cultivate seeds for Zaid crop, you will have to apply online by visiting the website of the Department of Agriculture. Then, select the option of home delivery. The farmers can also avail of the seeds by going to the department. For this, the farmer will have to buy seeds from the market, on which subsidy facility will be available.
Charges for Home delivery
In case you ask for home delivery of the seeds, you will have to 5 rupees per kg as delivery charges. For every kilogram of seeds you ask for on subsidy, you will have to pay a fee of Rs 5.
